Come and discover the amazing world of Jameson Camp.
Founded in 1928, Jameson
Camp makes a difference in the lives of hundreds of children each year
through an array of programs that provide lifelong memories and
lifetime skills.
Our Residential Summer Camp serves
any child who
could benefit from a camp experience. We are especially
equipped to work with children who have minor social, emotional
or behavioral challenges. Families can choose between
Traditional Camp, Wellness Camp, Tataya Mato, JC juniors and
AVID Youth Leadership Camp.
Our Youth
Leadership programs focus on helping teens discover what it means to
be a leader, appreciate the importance of serving others, and developing
interpersonal skills through experiential and service learning.
Our Challenge Program
enables all participants to discover new skills,
test their limits, and develop confidence and self-esteem, while also
learning leadership skills, and the importance of teamwork and respect
for other persons. We have a 3-tiered Challenge Program comprised of
our team building course, climbing tower, and high ropes course.
Programs can be tailored to meet your specific needs.
Through Outdoor Education
we strive to engage children, youth and adults in
the wonders of our natural surroundings. We aim to educate them about
the importance of caring for our environment by reconnecting them
personally with the outdoors.
Our Wellness
Program focuses on educating children and their families about
healthy eating, exercise, and making positive choices in their daily
lives. Program consists of a 6 day summer camp experience for children
and 4 follow-up events for the whole family.
AVID Youth
Leadership Camp is a 7 day/6 night session of camp
for youth ages 12 – 14. More adventurous activities are offered while
providing leadership and team-building activities to go along with their
school’s AVID experience.
Child must be
enrolled in an AVID program to attend this session.
Each
program is designed to help each youth experience success. We provide
skills that will remain with these children throughout their lives.
Jameson, accredited by
the American Camp Association, is a
United Way partner agency. Our
agency is governed by a volunteer board of directors with a staff of six
full-time employees, a seasonal staff of 30–40 and many committed
volunteers.
Jameson Camp’s site
includes one hundred acres of woods, meadows and streams. Our recently
completed capital expansion has provided excellent facilities including
a dining hall, swimming pool, seven cabins, an arts and crafts/nature
center, many outpost campsites, ample trails, picnic sites, open fields
and a campfire circle.
Jameson Camp shares our
facilities with the community by renting our buildings and site to
outside groups throughout the year.
