Classes and Day/Overnight Trips
The Jameson Camp Environmental Education courses immerse students in authentic, hands-on learning environments that spark imagination and heighten interest in learning. The natural environment of Jameson Camp in the midst of urban Indianapolis provides unique outdoor experiences for youth and presents opportunities to discuss what it means to be good stewards of the earth.

The course’s inquiry-based approach introduces students to STEM topics such as:


Students have the opportunity to explore Jameson Camp’s natural environments and become scientists as they observe, navigate, collect data, and participate in facilitated discussions tailored to their experience and the environment surrounding them. Exposure to nature invokes personal connections for learners and authentic learning environments present information in impactful and meaningful ways.

Day Trips!


A day trip at Jameson Camp can last 3 to 5 hours depending on your goals and availability. Schools select a number of the classes we offer and students will rotate throughout the day. We can accommodate over 100 students, but we recommend splitting the groups up into no more than 15. We will tailor your day trip to meet your goals, creating a schedule just for you!


Pricing

$5.00 per student (Minimum $150): Jameson staff lead half of the classes, school staff/chaperones lead half of the classes (Jameson provides materials and curriculum).

$8.00 per student (Minimum $250): Jameson staff lead all classes.

Overnight Trips

Spend the day at Jameson Camp, and stay the night in our comfortable cabins! Similar to our day trips, schools select a number of classes and students will rotate. We will tailor the trip to meet your needs, creating a schedule just for you! 2 Days/1 Night

$30.00 per student (Minimum $600)

Includes 1 night lodging, breakfast on 2nd day (school is responsible for any other meals), 7 hour long classes and an evening program. Jameson staff lead half of the classes, school staff/chaperones lead half of the classes (Jameson provides materials and curriculum).


$47.00 per student (Minimum $900)

Includes 1 night lodging, 3 meals, 7 hour long classes and an evening program. Jameson staff lead all classes.


3 Days/2 Night

$54.00 per student (Minimum $1000)

Includes 2 nights lodging, breakfast on 2nd and 3rd days (school is responsible for any other meals), 13 hour long classes and 1 evening program. Jameson staff lead half of the classes, school staff/chaperones lead half of the classes (Jameson provides materials and curriculum).


$83.00 per student (Minimum $1600)

Includes 2 nights lodging, 6 meals, 13 hour long classes and 2 evening programs. Jameson staff lead all classes.


Add-ons
  • Additional meals, lodging nights, and classes can be added for an extra fee.
  • If teambuilding is chosen for a class, the zip line, flying squirrel, climbing tower or high ropes course can be added for an additional fee.

  • Multi Trip Progression

    We can schedule multiple day trips and/or overnight trips to give students more time to learn outdoors.

  • Plan a trip for each grade level with different topics to complement their classroom learning.
  • Come to Jameson during each season (yes, even winter!) to discover how nature changes throughout the year.
  • Have students run experiments where they compare what they observe with each trip.
