At Jameson’s Traditional Summer Camp, campers are able to participate in activities such as swimming, archery, arts and crafts, late night stories by a campfire, creek walks, talent shows, and campouts all while making new friends and learning about themselves.
Jameson has provided these opportunities and many more to the youth of Indiana since 1928. Jameson’s mission is to enrich the lives of Indiana youth by inspiring them to discover their strengths. Through positive reinforcement and a strengths-based atmosphere, our children are able to improve their decision-making and social skills, while becoming more independent and feeling more comfortable accepting challenges. Our programming is based on the Search Institutes’s 40 Developmental Assets. Everyday, these Assets are woven into the structure of our camp programming, as our kids learn about assets such as empowerment, positive values, boundaries and expectations, support, and many more.
Our campers are often recommended to come to Traditional Camp by referral agents. These referral agents are professionals who work with the child and include teachers, doctors, school nurses, counselors, social workers, church professionals, and many others. A major pillar of the camp is the diversity of our camp community. Our children come from all socioeconomic, racial, and family backgrounds. We serve all children and have a specialty in working with minor social, emotional, and behavioral challenges. Our camp fees are on a sliding scale based on family monthly income.
