Braxton, 7

Joining us for a summer of fun at Jameson Camp for his second year, Braxton was nominated by ropes course expert Elliott Hamilton as the stand-out camper in day camp for week three. Jess Gillum, Program Director of Camps, gushed about how Braxton lives PACK (perseverance, accountability, courage, and kindness) values.

“Braxton is such a sweetheart,” Director Gillum said. “He’s the first to show leadership with campers who have developmental disabilities.” More than half of campers at Jameson Camp are living with mental, emotional, behavioral, and/or developmental diagnoses.

It’s no surprise to counselors that Braxton is excited and ready to try new things, including making friends with campers and counselors alike.

What activities did you pick this week?
Cooking and Legos!

Which one do you like better?
I like cooking the best because I don’t really get to cook at home. The best part is eating the food we make – I didn’t realize we got to eat it!

What would you be doing if you weren’t at camp?
Watching TV or playing outside.

If you could pick one activity to do all day, what would it be?
Archery. When I got here the first week, I didn’t get to try it because it was packed. But I did it this week!

Who is your favorite person here?
Chris, aka Chief, and Elliott.
